We recently went on a baking hiatus, with the intention to begin taking orders again at the end of October. However, we have chosen to extend our hiatus and take a longer break in order to provide our customers with the full experience we originally intended when we launched The Cookie Guru.

Just as our cookie dough needs to rest before baking, in order for it manifest into the perfect cookie, I realized that I need some rest too. I need time to pause and regroup in order to manifest the next stage of my business. My vision has not changed and I still see a flagship store opening in the near future.

Our current plan is to pause production in order to raise capital and receive the proper funding and support. Once we have the financial resources necessary, we can then find the perfect location to set up our flagship store and cookie production space. Having the full financial support allows us to not only fulfill our vision but most importantly it allows us to provide our customers (aka: you!) with a consistent, delicious product and a memorable experience filled with love.

I am so grateful for all of you and the amazing support and positive feedback I have received thus far. I apologize to not be able to provide you with the cookies you crave, but I promise this hiatus is temporary and when we return the cookies will taste that much sweeter!

I am always open to connecting with you, so please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns or connect with me on twitter (@thecookieguru). I am still here, and the cookies will be back as soon as possible!

Sweetly,

Aurelie

My food philosophy is simple: “There are no good foods or bad foods, there are only perfect bites” A Perfect Bite is simply whatever feels complete and right for you. I created this food philosophy for myself because it helps me be healthy and balanced but allows me freedom to indulge and enjoy.

For me, the perfect bite is made up of 4 components. Pleasure (pleasing to the palate, tastes good), Satisfaction (satisfies my physical hunger as well as my need for foods that feel decadent and indulgent – even if they’re not) Nourishment (nourishes my body, healthy or nourishes my soul if it’s not super healthy) and Authentic (I want the real thing and to know where my food came from, organic, local, and seasonal as much as possible).

The word “perfect” often gets a bad rap. When I use the word perfect I mean it in the whole sense of the term. The truth is, there is no ultimate perfection, and there is no perfect way to eat or live. All of it is a process. Perfect just means whatever feels right to you. What makes you feel good and happy? For me, perfect is feeling happy, satisfied, nourished, and relaxed.

My perfect bite also includes room to not be so perfect all the time. Sometimes it is more nourishing to eat a piece of decadent dessert than it is to think about the health benefits it provides. My goal is to live in the perfection of knowing myself, my body and what will nourish, heal and satisfy it.
